As Chief Operational Officer at House of Wolf & Associates Inc., Una Gair leads community safety initiatives in collaboration with Indigenous communities across Canada. A cornerstone of her work involves operationalizing five-year community safety plans through upstream interventions that address systemic root causes of harm. Una regularly collaborates with federal, territorial, provincial, and municipal partners, including the RCMP and other justice agencies, to align strategic efforts.

In addition to my work at House of Wolf, I also serve as a federal Correctional Program Officer with the Correctional Service of Canada. Over the past decade, she has specialized in delivering rehabilitative programming for violent and sexual offenders in institutional and community settings, conducting risk assessments, and managing reintegration planning.

She is deeply committed to creating spaces where safety, respect, and cultural values are foundational to justice practices.  Whether designing initiatives that blend Indigenous teachings with Western models, mentoring colleagues, or facilitating intergovernmental collaboration, I strive to create meaningful change.

The Career series event is a two-day event hosted by the Criminology Student Association and the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University.

This two-evening event will feature guest speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds such as corrections, forensics, law, and cybersecurity, among others. This event will provide an opportunity for students to learn from professionals in criminology-related fields and gain insight into post-BA opportunities and career pathways. This event is open to current and intended SFU Criminology students. Students can sign up for one or both sessions.

Each Criminology Career Series session will feature short 5-7 minute presentations by six different guest speakers, followed by a general Q&A panel, and breakout tables/rooms for more specific discussions.

The first session on Wednesday, March 19th will be held at the SFU Burnaby campus. The second session on Thursday, March 20th will be held on Zoom.  The exact location (building and room number) for the in-person session will be made available upon registration via Eventbrite. Also, catering (coffee, juice, and assorted baked goods) will be provided for the in-person session. Seats are limited for the in-person session, so please register as soon as you can.
